In just a few hour’s time, the UK’s first open access hydrogen refuelling station will be officially launched, capable of refuelling cars, buses and small commercial vehicles.
Set for opening later today at the Honda of the UK Manufacturing site in Swindon, the station has the capabiity to operate at 350 and 700 bar pressure and looks just like a conventional forecourt.
Project partners BOC, Honda and Forward Swindon are holding an official launch ceremony at the station, which will include a tour of the promising new facilities.
The new refuelling station will be open to all, whether users or vehicle developers, strategically located near the M4 motorway between London and South Wales and providing a link between existing smaller scale hydrogen ‘hubs’ based around academic research centres.
gasworld will be attending the offical launch; look out for a full report from the event in the November issue of gasworld magazine.
