Five organisations awarded prize fund at Air Liquide Foundation Awards

Five organisations were each awarded a €10,000 ($10,836) prize award at the Air Liquide Foundation Awards ceremony in Paris last night.

The businesses received the prize fund for their ongoing projects in both the Scientific Research sector, for innovative projects pertaining to the environment, and Societal Innovation sectors, for micro-initiatives that help local communities, respectively.

Awards were given to:

• · The CNRS (France’s National Centre for Scientific Research) for its study on natural insectisides from the forests of Guiana
• · Fondation PremUp, for two research projects it is conducting on respiratory ailments in premature infants
• · Agronomes et Vétérinaires sans Frontières, for projects aimed at valorising the fruit production of peasant families in Brazil and at developing biogas in Senegal
• · Energie Jeunes, for its programme helping keep kids in school in priority education areas in the Ile-de-France territory
• · Village Pilote, for its programme aimed at helping disadvantaged youth in Senegal find careers.

Benoît Potier, Chairman of the Air Liquide Foundation and Chairman and CEO of Air Liquide, highlighted that, “These organisations are emblematic of the Foundation’s values. The winning projects, which address social and environmental issues, also stand out because they are innovative.”
