Foster Wheeler secures South African contract

Foster Wheeler Ltd. declared this month that its South African subsidiary has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Senmin International (Pty) Ltd (Senmin), for a new facility in Sasolburg, South Africa.

The plant is scheduled for completion in 2009 to produce carbon disulphide and recover sulphur from hydrogen sulphide.

Foster Wheeler South Africa (Pty) Limited was awarded the EPC contract, though the contract value for the project was not disclosed.

“We are pleased to have been selected by Senmin for the EPC phase of this project following our completion of the FEED, and we hope that this develops into a long and successful relationship between our two companies,” explained Steve Scott, Managing Director of Foster Wheeler South Africa (Pty) Limited.
