The University of Edinburgh, one of the founding partners of Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage (SCCS), has developed the world’s first open online course exploring the technology that can provide a long-term solution to protecting the atmosphere from an excess of carbon dioxide (CO2).
The free five-week massive open online course, or MOOC, will explain carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology in the context of climate change, global energy and economics, our use of fossil fuels and global climate policy.
The course, which begins on 15th March, is suitable for anyone with a keen interest in learning how technology can help to rein in the worst impacts of climate change in a world of increasing population and energy needs.
