Fluor Corporation has been selected by German-based BASF SE as its global engineering partner for future chemical and petrochemical plant projects around the world.
The services agreement—which was signed at BASF’s chemicals complex and headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, by Peter Oosterveer, Fluor’s chief operating officer, Martin Buschbacher, BASF senior vice president of Global Indirect Procurement, Wolfgang Haas, BASF president of Legal, Taxes and Insurance, and Volker Knabe, BASF president of Engineering and Maintenance—includes conceptual and front-end engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, project management, construction management and other services.
“We are delighted to sign this global agreement with BASF as it marks a successful working partnership established over the past four years through projects undertaken under three regional agreements – Asia, Europe and North America,” said Fluor’s Oosterveer. “We will now be able to leverage Fluor’s global capabilities to provide integrated solutions and deliver chemical and petrochemical plant projects for BASF anywhere in the world.”
Fluor will use its global network of offices to execute future BASF plant projects around the world. Prior project experience with BASF in China, Germany, India, Poland, the United States, Spain, Brazil and Malaysia will be fully utilized to enhance project delivery on an on-going basis.
