A Gasmet Technologies analyser that was purchased at the end of the last century has finally entered retirement.
After nearly two decades of service, the Gasmet 9540 FTIR multigas instrument, affectionately nicknamed the ‘Grandmother,’ has had to be replaced by a younger model.
It was originally purchased by VTT, the Technical Research Centre of Finland, for online wet gas analysis on a pressurised flat bed reactor conducting research work on catalysts. It provided simultaneous analysis of compounds such as carbon dioxide, ammonia, carbon monoxide and methane.
