Gasunie takes next step for Brunsbüttel LNG terminal

Advancing Germany’s efforts to reduce reliance on Russian natural gas, Gasunie has taken development of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Brunsbüttel to the next stage after signing contracts with its initial customers.

Developed through Gasunie’s subsidiary German LNG, the terminal will have an annual throughput capacity of at least 8bcma (billion cubic metres per annum), with the potential to increase to 10bcma.

Initial supply contracts were signed with ConocoPhillips, INEOS and RWE Supply & Trading, coinciding with the launch of the terminal’s licensing procedure.
