International carbon capture solutions thinktank the Global CCS Institute (the Institute) has announced that Dr. Mohammad Abu Zahra will take on the role of Head of Middle East/North Africa (MENA) Region at the Institute.
Due to begin in Abu Dhabi, UAE on January 17th, 2022, Zahra brings to the position nearly 20 years of academic, research and business experience relating to carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Having most recently held a role as Professor of Chemical Engineering at Khalifa University of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, he also led the facility’s CO2 capture research activities.
Commenting on the appointment, Jeff Erikson, General Manager for Client Engagement, Global CCS Institute, said, “We are excited to have such a distinguished and accomplished expert as Mohammad leading our work in the MENA region.”
