HAM Group, through its subsidiary HAM Criogenica Peru, has bought a 40% stake in Limagas Movilidad.
The investment from the European group, which is strong in compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) services, strengthens its footprint in Peru and South America and aims to capitalise on natural gas vehicle potential in the region, as well as other commercial opportunities for LNG in river, rail and mining transport.
In a statement, HAM Group – which was founded in 1980 – said it will invest in the first Peruvian service stations for LNG for long distance transport, and CNG for passenger cars, light vehicles and trucks in the next few years.
It will continue to explore energy-efficient solutions that reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, nitrous oxides and fine particles.
