HAM to build Chile’s first Bio-LNG plant

Specialist in compressed natural gas (CNG) – liquefied natural gas (LNG) services HAM Group (HAM), will build the first Bio-LNG plant in Chile alongside biomethane producer CycleØ after the partners were awarded a construction and operation contract.

Located in the Nuble region, the plant will process between 7,500 and 16,500m3of biogas per day, reducing CO2 emissions from the heavy transport industry by around 19,000 tonnes.

The facility will also reduce fine particle emissions by 96% and nitrogen oxide/sulphur emissions by 85% compared to other fuels.

Biogas will be supplied from an anaerobic co-digestion plant for waste from a MaxAgro pig farm where HAM Chile Spa will build and manage the processing facilities.
