Hamina LNG terminal on track

Construction work on a new LNG terminal in the port of Hamina, Finland is progressing well and will be fully constructed by 2020.

Technology group Wärtsilä was awarded the engineering, procuring and construction contract, and announced today that the terminal tank is now being topped with a roof that weighs 148 tonnes. The operation was completed in less than ten hours with the help of a 250T super lift.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the 30,000 m3 capacity terminal was held back in September. It will provide storage of LNG and will also have re-gasification capability for sending the gas to the existing distribution network serving both regional and national markets.
