Following the devastating tornado that ripped through Kentucky and several other US states last year (2021), Harris Products said it joined forces with Airgas to supply oxy-fuel torches and tips to those in need.
Harris Products’ distributor in the region, Airgas supplied customers in urgent need with cutting torches, tips, hose and regulators, while also searching the greater Mayfield area for gas cylinders displaced in the storm.
Supporting Airgas employees, Harris technical sales reps, Sam Koehne and Patrick Kelly, drove down to Mayfield with eight torches and 72 cutting tips and donated them all to provide greater safety.
Reflecting on the effort, Kelley said, “It was amazing to see all the people, from different organisations and different parts of the Midwest, loading up their pick-up trucks, bringing their Bobcats, and pitching in to clean up the wreckage from a tornado that impacted so many lives.”
