The carbon dioxide (CO2) will be captured from power plant flue gases, with the partners working together to create solutions for the captured gas such as using it as a raw material for various products.
Explaining potential uses of the CO2, Tuukka Hartikka, Business Lead, Renewable Hydrogen and PtX, Helen, said, “Among other things, CO2 can be used to manufacture chemical industry products or carbon-neutral fuels for transport.”
The decarbonisation of industry and the establishment of carbon value chains is seen as a necessary part of achieving net-zero emission targets.
