Houston’s Thanksgiving Parade balloons lifted by Air Liquide and Airgas

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, has been contracted to lift the balloons at Houston’s 68th annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade, by supplying more than 40,000 cubic feet of helium (He) for the celebrations.

Whether it’s refining and petrochemicals, medical oxygen delivered to hospitals, gas cylinders used in welding or the fizz in soft drinks, Air Liquide’s reach touches nearly every facet of daily life. Tomorrow, it just happens to be the He that will keep these fabulous balloons floating high in the air.

The He that Airgas will provide for balloons in the parade is enough to fill nearly 145,000 balloons. It will be delivered in cylinders by trucks driven from the Tier One company’s facility in LaPorte.
