Millennium Cell Inc, the US developer of hydrogen battery technology used to power portable applications, and Singapore’s Horizon Fuel Cell technologies have signed a joint development and licensing agreement focussed on the commercialisation of fuel cell-based power products that provide over 20 watts of power.
The strategic relationship will allow Horizon to launch practical and viable fuel cell power products as a cleaner and competitive alternative to lead acid batter-based power systems.
Horizon licensed Millenium’s Hydrogen on Demand technology as part of the agreement, for the purpose of co-developing compatible hydrogen fuel cartridges for the next wave of Horizon fuel cell products set to be released onto the market next year.
The first of a series of Horizon’s new products is a 50-watt emergency power unit designed to support disaster relief professionals, enable communication during blackouts and provide recreational power in remote environments.
Singapore-based Horizon of China, develops commercial-grade, cost-competitive hydrogen fuel cell solutions targeting a number of high volume markets.
