Hydrogen fuel pioneer wins £247k funding for carbon capture tech

UK-based waste-to-hydrogen specialist Compact Syngas Solutions (CSS) has won £246,568 from the Hydrogen BECCS (bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) Innovation Programme.

The Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP)-funded programme is run by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and aims to advance decarbonisation and accelerate renewable energy in the UK. 

Having previously won a BEIS grant worth nearly £300,000 earlier this year from the Low Carbon Hydrogen Supply 2 Programme, CSS will use the latest funding to explore the potential of using water to separate and capture CO2 during gasification.
