Hypertherm strives for carbon neutrality with new environmental sustainability goals

Industrial cutting systems and software company Hypertherm wants to achieve carbon neutrality and reduce the usage impact of its products by 50% by 2030, as it looks to support the 2015 Paris Agreement goal to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

The US-based company on Tuesday (Jan 18) unveiled the commitments as part of its 2030 environmental sustainability goals that hope to reduce Hypertherm’s use of resources, the carbon impact of its global operations and the impact caused by its products.

In addition to the above targets, the company also wants to reduce waste from all its waste streams by 50% and achieve a circular economy score of B, a necessary goal to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and waste. 

At present, Hypertherm’s circular economy score is C.
