Iceblick – putting quality first

Founded in 1990, Iceblick was formed from a business collaboration between companies based in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and the USA. They have quickly established themselves in the rare gases market, and the company’s interests incorporate industrial enterprises, research laboratories, planning and design offices, assembling, balancing and commissioning crews. Armed with production know-how patented in the leading industrial countries they specialize in the application of original engineering solutions. The company has also distinguished itself as a reliable partner to the worlds leading gas producing companies.

The core business of the company’s Rare Gases operations is to produce high purity xenon gas, krypton gas, neon gas and liquid neon. Product standards are important, and in a sector where purity is highly sought after Iceblick proudly claim to produce gases with a purity of 99,9999 percent. They also count helium gas, liquid helium, gas mixtures, and neon isotopes amongst their specialties. The company is easily a key player, making 70 percent of the neon and 25 percent of the krypton and xenon produced in the world.

This aside, they operate in a tight market, and face competition from industry players such as Linde Gas, Air Liquide, Praxair, Akela (Russia) and Ingas (Ukraine). However, their client base is strong and they support customers in the USA, Japan, Western Europe, Central Europe, Korea, China, Singapore, Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Iceblick themselves base their main headquarters and production facilities in Odessa, Ukraine; Airgas Ltd. is located in Lisichansk, Ukraine; Khrom Ltd. and Zenon Ltd. operate from Moscow, Russia.
The diversity of the client base is reflected in the applications in which the company’s products are used. Looking at the current order book, Iceblick supplies gases for the laser, electronic, lighting, space and window industries, as well as medicine, environmental protection, and research and development projects.

Some of the major projects that Iceblick have been involved in recently include the building of a unit for the production of extra pure helium with a production capacity of 50,000 m3/year that ensured no waste technology of the light inert gases (Ne and He). They have also participated in the development of an installations line for the production of Neon isotopes with the production capacity of 10 m3 /year (22 Neon) and 100 m3 /year (20 Neon).
