Increased prices to offset security costs

Air Products is to increase prices as part of an industry initiative to help offset security costs.

The changes are part of an ongoing effort by the company to improve the overall safety and reliable supply of its electronic products and services – part of an industry initiative coordinated by the American Chemistry Council to improve security at chemical facilities.

Also as part of the campaign, Air Products has completed a security vulnerability assessment for all its electronics manufacturing facilities which has resulted in continuing upgrades for computer monitoring systems, truck design and logistics and more plant security measures.

Prices will be increased by $40 a container on select electronic chemicals and gases effective from September 1 2005.
