Innovative industrial gases company BOC has demonstrated its support for the Scottish industry with the launch of a new state-of-the-art facility near Glasgow.
The new facility, which will provide essential gases and expertise to 18,000 Scottish customers, was officially launched on 20th June 2007 by the Provost of South Lanarkshire, Councillor Russell Clearie MBE with James Kelly MSP of Glasgow Rutherglen.
Located in Cambuslang, just three miles from the capital, the £17m facility will package and distribute industrial and hospitality gases packages including oxygen, nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide. The new site is part of a network of Scottish facilities and agents supporting BOC’s, including bulk production at Motherwell, cylinder filling at Aberdeen and distribution sites from Inverness to Kelso.
Speaking of the new development, BOC area business manager Nathan Palmer said, $quot;This new facility is both a crowning achievement for BOC and a fine example of how co-operation between different parties – the Scottish Executive, Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire Council and private enterprise – can really work for the benefit of Scottish industry.$quot;
