After more than 20 years of market feedback and product development, Draeger Safety Incorporated has launched its third generation fixed gas detector, the Polytron 7000.
The new device can provide a customisable combination of up to 30 different gas sensors from one transmitter and can be tailored to the client’s needs. Sensors can be connected to a control or monitoring system and also used as a stand-alone alarm unit with local relays.
Guenter Huber, marketing and product manager of gas detection systems for Draeger Safety, explains the product’s diversity, $quot;Because of its modularity and the large number of sensors offered, the Polytron 7000 can be customized to the plant, unit, and even down to the equipment level, providing clients with unmatched flexibility.$quot;
Draeger Safety, a US subsidiary of Germany’s Draeger Group, entered the fixed gas detection system market in 1988 with a commitment in resources and technology development and, in 2004, surpassed its nearest competitor as the market leader in providing fixed gas detectors and instruments.
One of the biggest success stories for Draeger Safety in the U.S. has been with a major soft drink manufacturer, which uses the company’s gas detection systems in all 54 of its bottling plants across the country. The gas sensors are used to detect leaks of ammonia, which is used in the refrigeration process and carbon dioxide, used in soft drink carbonation.
