A mini-LNG terminal has been commissioned in Kyleakin, Scotland for salmon supplier MOWI Scotland – and it’s believed to be a first for the UK.
Such news was confirmed on Monday (31st May) by global cryogenic engineering company INOXCVA which developed the terminal under supervision of energy consultancy and advisory firm Fuelgarden.
INOXCVA manufactured and supplied the terminal on turnkey supply basis which includes two 1000m3 vacuum insulated storage tanks, ship bunkering station, 300m vacuum Jacketed piping, trailer loading station and vaporisation system, suitable for natural gas consumption by fish feed factory.
The mini-LNG terminal is capable of taking LNG through small ship as well as by semi-trailer and IMO container. All major critical equipment installed in the mini-LNG terminal were designed and manufactured in INOXCVA’s state of art manufacturing facility in India.
