ITM Power, a UK-based energy and storage clean fuel company has received a €2.75m ($3.1m) grant for the HPEM2GAS project, along with other partner companies, to advance electrolyser competences.
Funded by the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) organisation, ITM Power will personally receive €915,650 ($1m) over the next three years to further develop its electrolyser capabilities, with a particular emphasis on lowering unit costs.
By incorporating smarter balance of plant (BoP) and lower cost proton exchange membrane (PEM) stack technology, ITM Power aims to better serve the often inundated electricity grids, as both these methods can generate greater quantities of renewable power.
