Oxygen tanks are an increasing backstage phenomenon for ageing rock stars.
Many stars including the Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and Black Sabbath Ozzy Osborne use oxygen during their performance to help them to get through live shows.
Recently a close source to Jagger told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper that “It helps him get his breath back quicker, keeps the airways clear and gives him what he needs to get back out and step it up a gear for the second half of the show.”
According to the newspaper at 63, the rock n roll veteran struggles to keep his energy levels up for an entire two-hour performance, so when guitarist Keith Richards plays his two solo songs Mick pops backstage and straps on an oxygen mask.
