Joint venture set up to supply Sharp’s Sakai plant

The newly formed joint venture between Taiyo Nippon Sanso (holding 51%) and Air Water (holding 49%) will be named Sakai Gases Centre Co Ltd and will be located in Osaka, Japan.

The purpose of the joint venture will be to supply a range of gases to an LCD panel manufacturing plant and a solar cell plant which will be operated by Sharp Corporation, as well as other supporting plants to be operated by other companies.

These plants will all be in the manufacturing complex for the 21st century whose construction is being planned by Sharp in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.

Capital paid in to the joint venture amounts to ¥300 million and planned capital investment will be approximately, ¥30 billion.
