The Linde group is in discussions with Wesfarmers regarding the possible sale of Lindes Australian industrial gas operations, Linde Gas Pty Ltd.
Linde Gas Australia is being divested by the Linde Group following an undertaking given to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) as a result of its global merger with The BOC Group plc.
The Linde Group has entered a preliminary agreement with Wesfarmers under which Wesfarmers offers to purchase Linde Gas Australia for an enterprise value of around €300m.
Withdrawal of the offer by Wesfarmers or non-acceptance of the offer by The Linde Group may trigger an €18m break fee. The proposed transaction will be subject to clearance from the ACCC.
