Linde Gas has announced the development of a unique helium supply and buffering concept for iSi Automotive, a highly sophisticated manufacturer of cold gas inflators.
The concept comprises a liquid helium container docking station, a containerised evaporator, compressor and a remote controlled system to ensure a safe and continuous supply of helium to fill up buffers. This allows iSi Automotive to optimise the supply and cost of helium because with Linde’s newly developed concept, a single helium container can be used and then moved for the withdrawal of helium at another location, without compromising safety in supply and product quality.
“This system, developed by Linde’s engineers, fits well with the needs of our worldwide container logistics,” said Siegfried Ebner, Manager Logistics and Customer Service, Linde Global Helium Group. “With this system one can extract the required amount of helium at an instance, and the container can then move on to another filling plant or point of use. This optimises logistics and protects the customer against possible Helium shortages, while providing a competitive price.”
Commenting on Linde as their helium supplier of choice, Dietmar Schäfer, Managing Director of iSi Automotive said, “Linde’s unique supply and buffering concept, as well as its safety and flexibility, have convinced us to award the helium supply contract to them. I look forward to a long mutually beneficial partnership with the Linde team.”
