Linde inks hydrogen deal with HUI

Linde is looking to strengthen its hydrogen assets in Europe, having today (6th September) announced a new agreement with Hydrogen Utopia International (HUI) to deploy unique waste-to-hydrogen systems in Poland.

Developed by UK-based Powerhouse Energy, the gasification technology, dubbed DMG®, can covert up to 40 tonnes of plastic waste daily into 58MWh of renewable electric and clean hydrogen – marking a huge step forward for the Polish hydrogen economy. 

Roll-out of the technology is soon set to power ahead with Linde and HUI confirming that they are in the final stage of signing a mutual contract for the syngas clean-up. HUI have already acquired the exclusive rights for the Powerhouse technology in Poland.

A feasibility study which is currently being carried out by Linde, HUI and Powerhouse envisages a first plant to be jointly developed in Konin, Central Poland. Once operational, it is hoped the produced hydrogen will fuel city buses, other heavy-duty vehicles and passenger cars.
