Following the announcement by Linde last month (March) that it has suspended all business development for new projects in Russia, the gas giant has provided an update on its current stance.
Having vocalised its condemnation of the invasion of Ukraine, Linde has stated that the company is committed to ‘scaling back’ its operations by ceasing supply to certain customers and divesting industrial assets to reduce its footprint in the country.
Despite this, Linde intends to safeguard its Russian employees and local communities in which it operates by continuing the provision of essential life-saving medical and other safety critical gases.
In an official statement sent to gasworld on March 17th, a Linde spokesperson revealed that the company is working with the relevant governments and authorities to ensure that it complies with international sanctions.
