Linde has significantly increased its sales and operating profit (EBIT) and confirmed its forecast for the whole year for the first half of fiscal 2006.
Group sales increased by 10.7 per cent to €4.991bn. Sales outside Germany rose by 11.9 per cent to €4.011bn, while sales within Germany showed an increase of 6.1 per cent to €980m. Incoming orders of €5.391bn were also higher, 10.4 per cent higher than the prior year figure.
CEO Professor Wolfgang Reitzle, said: ‘What’s special about this half-year is that we have continued to improve our business operations, while at the same time successfully meeting the additional challenges in the run-up to the proposed acquisition of BOC.
‘We are able to confirm our forecast for the whole of the 2006 year. We anticipate that group sales and earnings will again exceed the figures for the previous year.’
