The Linde Group is rolling out its own network of hydrogen (H2) stations throughout California to support its sponsorship of this year’s Shell Eco-marathon contest.
The new stations are currently located, or will soon be open, in Emeryville, Mountainview, Oakland, San Juan Capistrano, San Ramos, and West Sacramento.
These new sites will serve Linde’s offering at the Shell Eco-marathon, where the Tier One player has been named as the exclusive supplier of H2 for fuel cell based entries.
Many of the technologies on display at the Eco-marathon are in early stages of development, but H2 utilisation already is a tangible reality
The 2016 competition, which challenges students to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient vehicle, marks the German corporation’s sixth consecutive participation in the event series.
