PetroChina International has selected Linde as contractor for China’s largest ethylene plant. The contract with an order value of 140 million dollars was signed in Beijing last Sunday.
The mega cracker with an annual production capacity of one million tons of ethylene and 500,000 tons of propylene will be erected in Dushanzi, in the autonomous region of Xinjiang in northwestern China.
As licensor of the manufacturing process, Linde is responsible for providing the process technology and supplying the key components for the plant.
Dr. Aldo Belloni, member of the executive board of Linde, emphasised the strategic importance of the Dushanzi project: “In the highly competitive Chinese market, Linde’s strategy is to focus on quality projects with customers who value our technology as well as our ability to execute.
