Ryuku University was founded in 1950 and is one of the few universities in Japan which owns and operates its own high purity liquid nitrogen plant.
The university uses liquid helium and nitrogen for research into super conductive magnetism and nuclear magnet resonance of high temperature super-conductors.
The new plant will supply the university’s low temperature research centre with high purity liquid nitrogen.
The investment decision was taken due to the high price of liquid nitrogen in the region and the university’s need for an uninterruptible source.
