An affiliate of LNG Alliance Pte Ltd., Singapore (LNG Alliance), Carbon Governance, is strengthening India’s status as a global leader in renewables by establishing a new energies business unit in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The new unit, Linga New Energies Pvt Ltd, will build upon the region’s existing solar power and wind farm infrastructure to drive green hydrogen production and new energies project developments.
Already accounting for a quarter of India’s installed wind generating capacity, Tamil Nadu is planning to install an additional 20,000MW (megawatt) solar capacity by 2030.
Commenting on the new project, Murali Dharan, Director for New Energies, said, “Linga New Energies will focus on renewables based derivatives such as green hydrogen and green ammonia – the new fuel sources which are gaining popularity in the energy sphere.”
