Advanced Production & Loading (APL), a subsidiary of Norway-based BW Offshore, has signed a contract with Samsung Heavy Industries for the delivery of shipboard equipment packages for liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating production, storage and offloading vessels.
Valued at between $90-100m, the order is for four packages with an option for one additional package. The packages will be delivered from 2009 through to 2011.
The contract’s end client is Flex LNG, which has entered into turnkey contracts with Samsung for the floating LNG topsides and vessels, which are under construction at Samsung in South Korea.
