LNG receiving terminal to be constructed in Japan

Teikoku Oil Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Inpex Holdings Inc. has unveiled a YEN100 billion (US$912 million) investment in a new LNG receiving terminal in Joetsu city, Japan.

The project will include ship berthing facilities, 2x 180,000 kilolitre above ground tanks, vaporizers and calorific valve adjustment facilities with construction due to begin in 2009 and operation start-up in 2014.

With the demand for the natural gas steadily increasing against the background of factors such as rising awareness for environmental preservation and energy conservation as well as soaring prices for crude oil, the company is anticipating a continuing trend in the foreseeable future.
