LNG vessel agreement for Gaz de France

Gaz de France revealed recently it had signed a deal with Norway’s Hoegh LNG to build and operate a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and regasification vessel for its Italian Triton project.

Triton is an offshore LNG project developed by Gaz de France (GDF) in the Adriatic sea, and the company plans to make a final investment decision on the project by the end of 2009, with first deliveries expected by the end of 2012.

“The LNG storage capacity of the FSRU-vessel will be about 170,000 cubic metres and the baseload regasification capacity will be 5 billion cubic metres,” GDF said, adding that this capacity could double with the addition of a second vessel.
