Plans have been unveiled for what is believed to be the largest green hydrogen facility on the west coast of the US.
Plug Power on Monday (20th September) said it is behind the development which will produce 30 metric tonnes of liquid green hydrogen daily in Fresno Country, California.
In order to produce the hydrogen, a new 300MW zero-carbon solar farm will be implemented to power 120MW of Plug Power’s PEM electrolysers.
Pending environmental and construction permitting approvals, Plug Power will break ground on the plant in early 2023. It is hoped the plant will be commissioned in early 2024.
