Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc., the US subsidiary of Japan’s Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (TNSC), recently commenced operations at its helium transfilling facility located in Irwindale, California.
In addition to supplying bulk gaseous helium and liquid helium to end user customers and distributors in the Southern California market, the transfill serves as Matheson Tri-Gas’ export hub for bulk liquid helium shipments to Japan and other Asian markets.
A second Matheson Tri-Gas transfill facility located in the city of Newark, California is also nearing completion, with construction completed and the commissioning process scheduled to begin shortly.
The company expects the Newark transfill to begin commercial operations by mid-November 2008 and be capable of supplying bulk gaseous helium and liquid helium to end user customers and distributors, primarily in the Northern California market.
