McPhy chooses Grenoble for power supply

McPhy, the specialist in production and hydrogen storage equipment, has signed an electricity supply contract guaranteed 100% from renewable sources for a period of one year from 1 April 2015 with Gaz Electricité de Grenoble (GEG).

GEG guarantees that each kWh consumed by McPhy Energy is produced from renewable sources. GEG ENER production subsidiary of GEG Group operates 10 hydroelectric plants, 20 solar power plants and wind farms. The production from the energy mix comes mainly from the heart of the Alps. It therefore has the advantage of developing local sources that contribute to the reduction of pollution.

“Our commitment to sustainable development and our local roots are a natural partner GEG McPhy and we are very proud today to be able to provide our energy in the Alps. We try to think of new ways to design and operate facilities and innovative environmentally serving the energy efficiency,” said Thierry Jacquin, Commercial Director of GEG.

“We chose Gaz Electricité de Grenoble to provide our locations in La Motte-Fanjas and Grenoble because it is near its customers actor who, like McPhy, contributes to the construction of local, sustainable energy models. Thus, we produce hydrogen on site to fuel our site storage facilities in La Motte-Fanjas is now 100% renewable,” says Pascal Mauberger, President of McPhy.
