Messer discusses new R&D centre plans

Frank Meyer, the Mayor of Krefeld’s in Germany, visited Messer premises on the 20th July 2017 to receive a tour of the facility and here about the latest site developments.

The Mayor was accompanied by Andreas Struwe and Elmar Klein-Hessling from the Krefeld business development agency, and Angelika Peters, the towns press officer.

Johann Ringhofer and Adolf Walth, members of Messer’s Management Board, explained to the guests that Messer will be building a new European research and development (R&D) centre for all gas technologies in Krefeld. Concrete plans were initially put on hold in 2012 due to unfavourable business conditions, but since the start of this year, planning is back on track. The technical centre for welding and cutting has already moved to new premises on K2 industrial estate on Kleinewefersstraße since June.
