Messer, the largest owner-managed industrial gas specialist worldwide, announced it has recently put into operation a plant for the production of the noble gases krypton and xenon in Panzhihua of Central China’s Sichuan province.
It represents Messer’s second noble gas plant in China after the first one was successfully on-stream in Xiangtan of Southern China’s Hunan province in 2012.
With an annual production capacity of 5,000 cubic meters of krypton and 450 cubic meters of xenon, both of which arriving at the purity grade of 99.999%, Messer becomes the largest producer of high-purity krypton and xenon in China.
“We are proud that Messer is now able to produce its own krypton and xenon. I believe with our state-of-the-art facilities in Xiangtan and Panzhihua, we can better serve the local and international customers reliably with high quality products,” said Dr. Werner Hickel, CEO of Messer China.
