Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) will work alongside the State Government of South Australia to accelerate development of the region’s hydrogen industry and propose solutions to assist in the state’s transition to clean energy.
Having signed a Statement of Cooperation with the State Government on October 10th, MHI aims to grow a ‘globally competitive’ hydrogen export sector through the development of a hydrogen export strategy and strategic partnerships, fostering advances in new technologies and industrial opportunities through research partnerships, taking part in projects that advance large-scale industrial decarbonisation, and establishing a hydrogen ecosystem by developing near-term Australian domestic markets.
Peter Malinauskas MP, Premier of South Australia expressed his hopes for the newly agreed partnership, saying, “This SoC is a commitment from the State Government and industry partners to work together to accelerate the development of South Australia’s hydrogen economy.”
