Air Products has named Howard Castle-Smith as regional Vice President– Tonnage Gases, Europe and Middle East, succeeding Richard Boocock who has moved to a new position as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.
Castle-Smith had most recently served as regional vice president for Tonnage Gases, Asia where he played a major role in building Air Products’ tonnage asset base in China.
In his new role however, Castle-Smith will be responsible for the leadership, development and implementation of business strategy for Air Products’ Tonnage Gases business in Europe and the Middle East.
The Middle East is seen as both a booming and rapidly emerging industrial gas market, with the majority of the industry keen to invest and keep a close eye on business developments in the region.
