Mission to MARS

In the borough of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, a famous story exists, of a night hundreds of years ago when the iconic Liberty Bell – a symbol of US independence – was hidden overnight on its journey from Philadelphia to Allentown. That night in 1777 occurred during the American Revolutionary War, and the stopover of the Liberty Bell to obscure it from the British, is arguably one of the events that Quakertown is most famous for.

In the centuries since, Quakertown has evolved from a small village to a commercial manufacturing centre and, given its border with both the Delaware Valley and Lehigh Valley, it’s also in the midst of a veritable gas valley today – surrounded by industrial gas giants, independents and technologists.

In fact, Quakertown is home to one such technologist and, one might say, a story exists not so much of what’s hidden, but how that company identifies and recovers what’s hidden in plain sight: exhaust and process gases.
