MOL Group begin trials of biofuel-powered car carrier

Sea trials have begun for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines’ (MOL) wholly owned subsidiary’s Euro Marine Logistics N.V. (EML) operated car carrier using biofuel.

This fuel generation method is able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 80-90% in the well-to-exhaust process. About 470 tonnes of biofuel were bunkered on the carrier at the Dutch port of Flushing.
