NET Power, G2 to work on net-zero mix of industrial gases and LNG

G2 Net-Zero LNG and NET Power have stepped up their collaboration on a zero-emissions LNG project with a new letter of intent after the release of a pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design) report.

G2, a venture of Chas Roemer Innovations, is a Louisiana-based company building what it claims is the world’s first liquefied natural gas export and industrial gas production complex promising net-zero carbon emissions from upstream to dockside by 2027.

The companies said in a statement, “G2’s Net-Zero LNG export facility will be the first to integrate NET Power’s Allam-Fetvedt Cycle technology which removes all carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the natural gas liquefaction process to achieve a unique carbon net-zero energy mix of industrial gases, electricity and LNG. The pre-FEED report is a key milestone in accelerating the project’s FEED study, which is already partially completed, with increased confidence.”

In advance of Net-Zero LNG production, G2 says it will be profitably producing and selling industrial gases including argon, nitrogen and oxygen, while capturing all CO2 emissions.
