The Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) has established a research facility for the localisation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and cryogenic equipment at the Gimhae LNG – Cryogenic Technology Center in Korea.
Marking the first development of a performance evaluation system in Korea, the new facility will evaluate the performance of cryogenic equipment components, including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors, and refrigerators.
Equipment to be tested at the facility serves in various sectors such as shipbuilding and offshore, onshore plants, energy and power transport, and military and space.
