Picarro Inc. has introduced a new and improved analyser for monitoring trace levels of H2S (hydrogen sulfide) in ambient air, with a lower detection limit of 1 ppbv that is an order of magnitude lower than earlier models.
Based on the company’s WS-CRDS (Wavelength-Scanned Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy) technology, the new Picarro G1104 H2S analyser provides a large dynamic range of up to 300 ppmv, operates in real time, and has no requirement for frequent calibration.
Unlike H2S sensors based on competitive techniques, the G1104 H2S analyzer does not suffer from cross-talk due to changes in other ambient gas components, including other trace sulphur compounds such as SO2 and COS – as well as variations in moisture and CO2 at atmospheric levels.
WS-CRDS is an ultrasensitive technology that measures the optical decay time in a flow cell using an internal laser beam with an effective path length of many kilometres, enabling sensitivity and precision.
