Air Liquide Electronics is to invest in a new state-of-the-art electronics materials centre in Shanghai, China.
The centre will focus on Electronics Speciality Gases activities, especially for the purification and transfilling of materials used by semiconductor and flat panel display (TFT-LCD) producers.
More than 60 per cent of the worldwide production of chips and all the production of flat screens takes place in Asia and the Shanghai region in China is the new Silicon Valley. The production needs numerous ultra-pure gases at different stages of production and Air Liquide says these expectations have reached such a high level in terms of ultra-purity and reliability, a fully dedicated organisation is needed.
Christophe Fontain, vice president electronics of Air Liquide, said: This is a new chapter for Air Liquide Electronics.
